Randy Balzer

Project Manager
President

Randy began his career in the environmental abatement and disaster restoration industry since 2003 and has managed projects of all sizes including many emergency abatement contracts. Over the years, he has become well versed in the multiple facets and variedness that is environmental abatement. This includes experience in the areas of moisture investigation, structural drying, infection control in healthcare facilities, and much more. Randy’s 15 years serving as a volunteer firefighter have provided further training in the hazardous materials fields as well as experience in handling and mitigating high risk and time sensitive incidents.


Joel Van Es, BSc.

Project Manager 
General Manager

Having a key interest in construction, following the completion of a Science and Business degree, Joel began working in the restoration field with a specialized focus on environmental hazards in 2004. He has had the opportunity to manage a wide variety of projects including designated substance abatements of entire buildings and remediation and repair in Class 4 infection control site within healthcare facilities.


Nathan Martin
Project Manager

Nathan has years of environmental consulting experience, working for 3 years as an Environmental Scientist followed by 5 years as a Project Manager.  He demonstrates strong analytical and reporting skills with great attention to detail, which is an asset in the abatement industry.  Nathan is Zero’s third Project Manager.  We look forward to Nathan’s contribution to Zero and trust that our clients will appreciate the skill sets he can bring to their projects.

Doug Watson
Operations Manager

After acquiring vast experience working on a multitude of residential construction projects involving low and high rise developments, Doug has worked on a variety of small and large projects in the environmental abatement and health care and restoration Industry since 2002. His dedication to ensuring and promoting Health and Safety for our clients and workers is at the forefront of our everyday business practices.

Leigh Ann Stinson
Health & Safety and HR Manager

Leigh Ann has worked in the Human Resources and Health and Safety industry since 2003, with 9 years being in the Construction industry. She is currently working towards her Gold Seal Certification in Health & Safety.  Leigh Ann diligently ensures employee safety and conducts regular site inspections to mentor staff and supervisors in safety regulations and safe work procedures. She recently played a central role in Zero achieving Silver in the WSIB small business Health and Safety Leadership award in 2018.

Sabrina Dimech
Finance Manager

Sabrina joined our team in 2020 with over 14 years of full cycle accounting experience including corporate, personal and trust accounting. Sabrina’s previous positions include extensive experience as a Buyer, Public Accountant preparing taxes and Notice to Readers for Corporations as well as taxes for Personal/Trust accounts, and Finance Management. Her primary responsibilities include full cycle accounting and financial management and recruitment for our organization. She actively contributes to our Human Resources and Health & Safety team in an administrative capacity.
